John Ronan, MBA, FACHE

President, Blue Hill Memorial Hospital and Maine Coast Memorial Hospital

John Ronan is president of both Blue Hill Memorial Hospital and Maine Coast Memorial Hospital. John also serves as a senior vice president for EMHS.


The Road to Here

John was appointment as president of Blue Hill Memorial Hill (BHMH) in July 2014 and president of Maine Coast Memorial Hospital in August 2017. Previously he was BHMH’s chief operating officer and chief strategy officer and was responsible for overall organizational operations including direct responsibility for clinical and ancillary support systems and departments.

Before coming to BHMH in 2009, John worked for EMHS as a corporate director in information systems and as a vice president in the finance department. His previous experience includes information systems work for Central Maine Power in Augusta and as an IT Consultant for Andersen Consulting in Boston.

John earned a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from the University of Maine, and an MBA and Master’s in Human Relations, both from Husson University. In addition, he is a certified Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives.


Guiding Principle

John has demonstrated a strong interest in community and volunteering his time for several Maine organizations. He is a past board member of John Bapst Memorial High School, the Good Samaritan Agency, and the Bangor Humane Society. He is also a member of the Green Lake Association, past chair of the Glenburn Reorganizational Committee for School Consolidation, and was the chair of the Children’s Miracle Network Golf Tournament for several years.

John and his wife, Tracy, have two daughters, both who attend the University of Maine. John enjoys snowmobiling, boating, and spending time at his family’s camp on Green Lake.
