Kyle Johnson to Leave EMHS for Florida

EMHS announced today that after more than four years as vice president and chief information officer, Kyle Johnson plans to leave the organization later this month. Johnson has accepted the position of chief information officer for a larger healthcare organization. In this new role, she will be responsible for health systems on the east coast and will be relocating to Florida.
Johnson, who has more than 30 years’ experience in healthcare information systems, came to EMHS in 2014 from Trinity Health, the nation’s second-largest Catholic health delivery system. During her tenure at EMHS, Johnson oversaw restructuring of EMHS’ Information Systems, aligned the department’s strategy with organizational goals, and most recently began working with Cerner on installation of a new, systemwide electronic health record system.
Tim Dentry, EMHS senior vice president and chief operating officer, credited Johnson with leading the Information Systems team through a critical evolution that well-positioned the department for the future. “We will work with the executive recruiting firm of BE Smith to conduct a nationwide search for a new chief information officer. In the meantime, we will identify an interim CIO to serve until a permanent replacement is named,” said Dentry.
“I feel privileged to have worked alongside very talented and dedicated people at EMHS,” said Johnson. “I am proud of the results and growth the IS department has achieved during my tenure, and I know EMHS is headed in the right direction with the system’s Pathways to Our Future initiatives.  I am honored to have been part of all of this great work and moving EMHS into the future of healthcare.”
