Tony Filer is EMHS' new Chief Financial Officer

EMHS president and CEO, M. Michelle Hood, FACHE, is pleased to announce that Anthony (Tony) J. Filer will join EMHS later this fall as senior vice president and chief financial officer. Filer has a strong resume with his most recent position as chief financial officer at Presence Health, a large integrated system in Chicago.
With a more than 30 year career in healthcare, Filer is highly skilled in financial and operational leadership, says Hood. “I am delighted to be adding someone with Tony’s depth of expertise to EMHS’ senior leadership team. His extensive knowledge of the many facets of the finance discipline will be especially helpful in today’s ever evolving healthcare landscape.”
Filer says he is looking forward to EMHS — and to life in Maine. “I am joining a great and experienced team and welcome the opportunity to contribute to the continued quality and growth of the system. At EMHS, I found a mission-driven organization that offers both exciting opportunities and interesting challenges. I look forward to helping with both. That I get to do all of this in such a lovely state is more than I could ask for. My wife and I love spending time at the shore, so the proximity to the beautiful Atlantic Ocean is a bonus.”
Filer is a graduate of Susquehanna University, is a certified public accountant and a member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. His new duties as EMHS senior vice president and chief financial officer will commence by mid-November.
