Help Button Sponsorship Funds Available for Low-Income Seniors and Disabled

Brewer, Maine – (May 27, 2014) – The EMHS LiveSAFE program has funding available to assist seniors and disabled community members who may be in need of a help button, but are unable to afford this valuable lifesaving service.
LiveSAFE is a personal emergency response service that provides help 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, allowing people to live independently in their own home, where they are most comfortable. With a simple push of a button, calls are answered by a central call center in Maine. If the call center operator determines emergency assistance is needed, an immediate call is made to local dispatch, fire, police, or ambulance.
Currently, the monthly service for EMHS LiveSAFE is $32/month. Sponsorship funding provides $10/month, reducing the subscriber fee to $22/month. Potential subscribers with a family size of one that have an annual income that is at or below $17,505 are eligible. Community members interested in applying for LiveSAFE sponsorship funding can call EMHS LiveSAFE at 207-973-7080 to receive the guidelines and application or visit EMHS’ LiveSAFE webpage. Applications will be accepted until funds are no longer available.
Funding for the EMHS LiveSAFE Fund is made possible by the generous donations of local community members, helping to offset the daily living expenses for seniors and the disabled who are living on low fixed incomes.
