Antique Appraisal Show to Benefit EMHS LiveSAFE, April 26, 2014

The Rosscare Foundation and Dirigo Pines are pleased to announce the return of the Antique Appraisal Show, Saturday, April 26 from 10 am to 2 pm at Dirigo Pines Retirement Community in Orono. Now in its fifth year, this premiere event has become a much anticipated tradition to benefit EMHS LiveSAFE subscribers.
EMHS LiveSAFE is a Maine-based program supported by Rosscare, Eastern Maine Medical Center, Inland Hospital and Charles A Dean Memorial Hospital. EMHS LiveSAFE provides emergency response services to 790 elderly and disabled residents throughout Maine. Should a subscriber experience an emergency, help can be summoned through the simple push of a button. Maine operators will then respond to the call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and provide the appropriate response. This program has allowed many in our local community to safely stay in their homes longer.  Funds raised at this event assists community members who might need a help button, but who are unable to afford the full monthly fee, receive this life-saving service at a reduced rate.
The Antique Appraisal Show will feature Bruce A. Buxton, a licensed qualified appraiser, known for his entertaining and lively style. Bruce has 37 years of experience as an expert antique and fine art appraiser. Mr. Buxton and his staff will not buy or sell any items at the event, guaranteeing an unbiased assessment of the antiques. Jewelry appraiser, Elizabeth Yates Turner, and watch and pen appraiser, Chris McIntosh, will also be available.
The fee for antique appraisal is $15 per item. All money raised stays local to help low income seniors and disabled residents in our community.
The public is invited to bring items to be appraised or just to join us for the fun. For more information, contact Steve Bowler at Dirigo Pines at 866-3400 or the Rosscare Foundation at 973-5055.
