Leadership Change at SVH

Brewer, Me – (April 12, 2013) - EMHS and Sebasticook Valley Health president and CEO, Victoria Alexander-Lane have reached a mutually agreed upon separation. Alexander-Lane has resigned effective immediately.  Alexander-Lane, who was also a senior vice president of EMHS, had been at SVH for three years. During her tenure, she helped initiate a capital campaign that led to construction of a new wing, championed EMHS’ accountable care efforts, and was instrumental in SVH’s recognition as a top hospital in Maine by Leapfrog Group.
EMHS president and CEO M. Michelle Hood, FACHE said SVH chief operating officer Terri Vieira will serve as acting CEO. Vieira is an experienced healthcare leader who is highly regarded at SVH and in the Pittsfield community, and is well-known throughout EMHS as a thoughtful, caring, and collaborative leader. Vieira said she is pleased to be able to step in as acting CEO to, “Ensure our patients, their families, and our community continues to receive the quality service and care they’ve come to expect from SVH.”
While both EMHS and Alexander-Lane agreed a separation was in order, the discussions are a personnel matter and will remain private.
